Update 9.27.2010

Eric was taken back to Methodist on the 24th to do testing to see why his white cell count is rising and why he can't keep anything down. On the 26th Eric had a good day and he had a lot of visitors. Eric was up in his wheelchair for 5 1/2 hours yesterday. Which was great! He was also able to mowed down 2 jr whoppers with cheese. Eric still loves to get  his visitors and hours are from 6am - 9pm. Eric says thanks to everyone for all of their support. He could not imagine what it would be like to go through this without it.

  3. Joanne At Jamestown Speedway checking in to see how you are doing. I missed your updates for a few days while we were preparing for and running our year end event - the Stock Car Stampede - which had 286 entries this year. We have invited your Dad up here for this show and to see our white buffalo but he just never seems to make it -- and this year he had a good excuse so we will let him off the hook once again. Your progress the last few days is remarkable. Please keep up the good work - your potential for healing and for a wonderful future is unlimited!! You can, you will!! Your ARE awesome!! You keep doing your part and we'll keep praying for you! Give my best to your Mom and Dad.

  16. Eric had a tough day today and it warranted a trip back to the hospital. They thought Eric had a blood clot around the bladder. The test came back and that was ruled out. The process of elimanation came back to the fact he was being over medicated so they cut back on Antibiotics. The highlight of the day was Eric recieving a visit from Indy car driver and ling time friend Davy Hamlin. He encouraged Eric to move forward and entertained the idea of Eric driving a 600 mini Sprint car designed for him. Eric now has a new dream to chase.
Thank you so much for all those who came to see him today. You make his days so much shorter and SOOOO much brighter. Please feel free to leave a post.

  18. Hi everyone!
Just want to let you know that when there are days of very little progress or you are feeling sad, tired, stressed out, angry (you name it), there will ALWAYS be someone thinking about you and sending up little prayers for you. You are an amazing family and everyone I know is going to help see you through this.

I am still taking calls at Hoosier from people asking about you Eric. There was one today that had just heard about your accident. I have told quite a few people about your website and blog. If you read the blogs from the beginning to the present, you will see you have come a long way already!

Here's wishing you more great days ahead!

  19. Hi Eric!
So good to see some updates today. I check your facebook and website every day to see how you are doing. How awesome that you have so many caring friends and family rallying around you! Funny reading about Davy Hamlin's suggestion on the sprint car. Donny has always said it would be so cool to see you on 4 wheels, and you would be amazing!
Janice is right...no matter what you are feeling day to day, we are all still here for you. Everyone is praying and pulling for you! You are a person who has always been able to focus on the task at hand and succeed. You will always run into "bumps in the road" throughout your life. Stay focused, attack those bumps and you will continue to succeed!

  20. Eric:
So excited to see that Indy car driver Davey Hamilton made a visit to you. He is such an inspiration as he too fought back from a horrific Indy car accident several years ago. Also you should take inspiration from Sam Schmidt another Indy car driver now owner who also was a motocross racer at a young age. Sam was paralyzed from the chest down in an Indy car accident but has gone on with life as both an Indy car owner and founder of the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation, an excellent organization dedicated to research and finding a cure. The thought of you on 4 wheels is awesome! Think positive......YOU CAN...YOU WILL.

  23. For all you Eric Bloggers.
Eric had a tottaly AWESOME day today. They have backed off some of the meds and I think we finally hit the mark. He felt Great and more importantly he worked with Physical Therapist for 3 and a half hours. He is sorrely disappointed that he could'nt get out of bed, he has a pressure point injury that needs to heal, so it lookes like his down till Monday. DOWN BUT NOT OUT. Just goes to show when he feels well he's the fighter we all know and love.Thank you all for supporting us through this.
